NEW NW INDIANA FLOOD RECOVERY NEEDS YOUR ASSISTANCE IN GARY
Leaders of the Volunteer Resource Centers in Munster and Portage said there is a DESPERATE need for help in flood recovery in Gary, Ind. next weekend. Each volunteering congregation can take one house each in Gary next weekend (Oct.17-19) and get them cleaned up and sanitized. If we each took just one house, we could get many if not most of them taken care of. Flood survivor stories are heartbreaking. If your church is willing to accept this challenge, contact the Rev. Steve Conger, pastor of Ridge UMC in Munster at 219-838-4770, www.ridgeumc.org or www.smconger.com. CASEWORKERS also are needed in northwest Indiana to assist flood survivors complete forms for government assistance. For information, or to register go to www.ridgeumc.org/flood.
